This year SIAL China combined the non-alcoholic drinks, alcoholic beverage and hot beverages together. The serious international concerns of COVID dictate that health and safety of exhibitors and visitors must be our priority. Therefore, we have undertaken further analysis of the current situation. In light of cities like Beijing and Shanghai adding more precautionary restrictions, such as a day self-isolation upon landing in China, we must reconsider our plans. The impact on travel in May, for our international participants, is too logistically challenging to continue as planned. We are pleased to report that this decision is supported by both international and domestic exhibitors and partners. Currently all our work, preparation and promotion for SIAL China has adapted to the new exhibition date and venue. We will work closely with the venue and all partners in the coming months to make sure SIAL China will have a great edition in September.

Get the latest insights and analysis from our Global Impact newsletter on the big stories originating in China. The new date was decided upon after half the exhibitors who responded to a poll said that they wanted the fair to be held before the end of the year, instead of being postponed till July , a spokesman from the council said.
Exhibitor Jimmy Pang Chi-ming, head of publisher Subculture, said he expected a 40 to 50 per cent drop in sales compared to last year given that the planned date in December was not a holiday for schoolchildren. He also called on the government to do everything in its power to prevent the book fair from being postponed again. The council did not directly respond to the concerns, but said it was in discussions with stakeholders regarding the rescheduling arrangements.
Dennis Yung Wai-kwok, who works in the exhibition production industry, said it was too early to say if the book fair would improve the gloomy state of his sector, as the city has gone for months without large exhibitions, especially lucrative international conventions. About 20 to 30 per cent of exhibition production houses in Hong Kong had already collapsed, he said, and the book fair was unlikely to generate substantial revenue as exhibitors were expected to rent standard booths with minimal decoration.
The trade development council said exhibitors confirmed for the book fair in July would be guaranteed a place at the December fair. Category : Hong Kong. For years Intellasia. The booths and toilets located on one side of the bar are lined in a mixture of stained grey brickwork, graphic wallpaper and lengths of split bamboo. A bar made from walnut wood and surrounded by blackened bronze piping is located in the more open bar space on the other side of the corridor. The bar specialises in variations of punch — a beverage made from a cocktail of aromatic and alcoholic ingredients — whose popularity the architects attribute to employees of English trading business the East India Company.

The studio also designed glassware and furniture for the space including punch bowls and glasses, wine carafes and wooden chairs.
